Traveling by bicycle through the length of the country, witnessing the daily life of the Vietnamese and visit those of the most famous sites of the country. You will have the feeling as part of the scene rather than a detached onlooker, seeing Vietnam as close as it can be. This journey from North to South Vietnam covers most major attractions such as the Imperial City of Hue, the ancient town of Hoi An, the beautiful bay of Nha trang, the romantic hillstation of Dalat, and the watery Mekong Delta.

Day 1 Arrive Hanoi
Arrive in Hanoi, met and transferred to the hotel. At leisure to discover Hanoi. Tonight we will have the tour briefing, where our tour guide will tell you all the details of the journey, and answer all your concerns. We will head out together for an evening dinner at one of the fine Vietnamese restaurants.
Day 2 Hanoi City Tour
City tour of Hanoi with visits to the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum, his stilt house and One Pillar pagoda, Temple of Literature. Afternoon exploring of Hanoi Old quarter and its shopping streets. In the evening, we enjoy the water puppet show. O/N Hanoi. (B,L)
Day 3 Hanoi – Ha Long Bay
Depart Hanoi for Ha Long Bay approximately three hours away. En route we have a short stop at the Hong Ngoc Handicraft Centre run for handicapped children. Upon arrival at Ha Long Bay (approx. midday) we will board our luxury junk boat. While cruising, we are served a delicious seafood lunch. We have a couple of stops at islands to explore the amazing caves of Halong Bay. Toward the end of the day, we make a stop at Titop island, where you can either swim at the beach or walk up to the top for a panorama of the Bay and have pictures of the sunset. Then our captain will find a secluded spot for the night. Enjoy another seafood feast for dinner. (L/D)
Day 4 Ha Long Bay – Hanoi
Early start with some kayaking to Luon cave, and time for a morning dip followed by breakfast. We continue our cruise around the bay toward Bai Tu Long bay and the Cai Lan port. At midday we will return to the main harbor before transferring to our awaiting vehicle for a 3-hour journey back to Hanoi. We should be back in the capital at around 3pm. Dinner before boarding the Reunification Express train to Hue. (B/L)
Day 5 Hue
Arrive Hue. Check in. Our biking starts with a short ride through Hue’s scenic countryside to the majestic Khai Dinh and Tu Duc Royal Tombs. Afternoon Visit Thien Mu Pagoda, Imperial City & explore DongBa market and other attractions or rest up for the next day’s journey. Diversion can also be a countryside loop 25km to ThanhToan covered brick bridge. O/N Hue. (B,L)

Day 6 Hue to Hoi An
A long day ride on highway 1 along the coast, lunch break at picturesque Lang Co beach. An ascent of the Sea Cloud pass with stunning views and a thrilling 7-mile descent from the top to the busy city of Danang, which we will skirt by on our way to Hoi An. O/N Hoian. (B,L)

Day 7 Hoi An
We have a short city tour of Hoi An in the morning, we will visit Japanese covered bridge, a couple of old houses, Assembly halls, and the local market. In the afternoon, we cycle to Cua Dai Beach for swimming. Evening free to explore the town. (B)

Day 8 Hoi An – My Lai – Quang Ngai
Early start along the coastal route and past scenic rice paddies. We pass Chu Lai, a former American military base. Later in the afternoon we visit MyLai (widely known with the March 16, 1968 Massacre). O/N Quang Ngai. (B,L)

Day 9 Quang Ngai to Quy Nhon
Early coastline ride to Sa Huynh beach – which is also a great place for a dip in the cooling South China Sea. We continue cycling past rural villages canopied by coconut palms. We visit a Cham tower before taking our bus the rest of the way to Quy Nhon. O/N Quy Nhon. (B,L)

Day 10 Qui Nhon to Nha Trang
Another day along Vietnam’s most scenic coastline, with deserted blue lagoons and stone promontories, fishing villages, colored boats, mountain passes etc. O/N Nha Trang.

Cycling distance: 90 – 110 km
Day 11 NhaTrang
An easy-going day in this most famous seaside city in Vietnam, in the morning we cycle to Po Nagar Cham towers and LongSon pagoda. Afternoon free for relaxing. Optional: cycle to Thac Ba hot spring for mudbath. (30 km) (B,L)

Day 12 Nha Trang – Dalat
Morning bus past Cam Ranh Bay to Phan Rang – visit PoklongGarai Cham towers. Start heading west on our bikes along the zigzag mountain road. The challenge of the day will be the climb up Ngoan Muc pass (which some of us will do in the bus) into the beautiful pine forests, lunch break on Dran pass, which has a great view over Da Nhim reservoir. We carry on uphill and downhill through vegetables, tea & coffee plantation to DaLat. O/N DaLat. (B,L)

Day 13 DaLat
A city tour of Dalat – a beautiful colonial hill-station with cool weather and some interesting sites: HangNga Crazy House, Vien Thuc’s Pagoda, Da Lat railway station, Truc Lam pagoda and Tuyen Lam Lake. O/N Dalat.

Day 14, Dalat – Saigon
We spend most of the day in our support bus to cover the distance from Dalat to Saigon. We’ll pass by numerous coffee, tea, banana and rubber plantations which made the Central Highlands the place the produces Vietnam’s finest tea and coffee. O/N in Saigon. (B,L)

Day 15 Saigon (Ho Chi Minh City)
City tour Saigon, including the vibrant, chaotic China town – Binh Tay market, War museum, Reunification Palace. A tasty lunch in between at the famed Pho 24 (B,L)
Day 16 Sai Gon – Ben Tre
Depart Ho Chi Minh City for a scenic morning drive (40 Km / 1 Hours) to the Mekong Delta. Cycling from Tan An to Cho Gao along the country road with beautiful landscapes and rural communities (30 Km / 90 minutes). Arrive at a local home in Ben tre at noon. In the afternoon, take boat cruise on Mekong River, rowing local sampan to meet with local people and see their daily works. Have dinner of traditional Mekong Delta foods. After dinner take in a performance of traditional rural music. ON at local house in Ben Tre. (B, L,D)

Day 17 Ben Tre – Cai Be Floating Market – Ho Chi Minh City
After breakfast, we cruise from Ben tre to Cai Be on a private boat trip along the mighty Mekong River and its tributaries to view the daily lives of people who work and play on the waterways of the Mekong Delta. Cycling on village trails along the river (15 Km / 1 hour). The trip includes visits to the floating market at Cai Be, to an authentic Delta house, to a fruit wholesale market, and to a family-run business producing rice paper – a key ingredient in Vietnamese cuisine. Drive back to Ho Chi Minh City.
