Cycling Phnom Penh Mekong To Angkor 7 days

The Mekong River is one of the main national resources in Cambodia and it flows through Cambodia from Laos to Vietnam. Our 7-day Mekong cycling tour starts from Phnom Penh and goes up following the stream to Koh Dach (Weaving Village), Kampong Cham Province, Kratie (where we’ll see the Mekong dolphins, to finally end up in Angkor, Siem Reap

Day 1: Phnom Penh – Royal Palace – National Museum – Toul Sleng

Upon arrival, transfer to hotel for check-in with our guide. Lunch not included. Today we won’t cycle as it’s not great fun in a busy city like Phnom Penh. We start our guided tour in an A/C vehicle to the Royal Palace, Silver Pagoda, National Museum, and Toul Sleng Musuem. Dinner at a local restaurant.

Day 2: Phnom Penh – Mekong Islands – Kampong Cham

Breakfast at hotel. Embark by local boat to the Mekong Islands and visit a weaving village, observing the daily life activities. After lunch we will cycle along the Mekong Riverside to Kampong Cham province. Along the way we will have good photo opportunities. Visit the traditional houses, local pagodas, local pharmacies and a school. After 35km cycling, we will continue in our vehicle the rest of the road. Arrival at Kampong Cham, check in at hotel and dinner at local restaurant.

Day 3: Kampong Cham – Kratie – Mekong Dolphin

Breakfast at hotel. Our journey today will start with our vehicles and then with our bikes through the plantation farms, countryside, robber plantation and green forest. We will arrive in Kratie at noon time, lunch at local restaurant and then cycling tour to visit the Mekong Dolphin, about 45km from town. After the visit we drive back to Kratie in our vehicle. Dinner at a local restaurant

Day 4: Kratie – Stung Trang – Kampong Thom

Breakfast at hotel. Today we will cycle a long distance through the riverside and the countryside. We stop in Chlong Village to see how the farmers plant tobacco and other plants. The journey continues to the next villages. Cross the Mekong River by ferry, a great experience with other local people. Lunch will be provided at a local restaurant. We keep riding through another big robber plantation in Chamka Leur district, the Kampong Cham province and finally in our van to Kampong Thom.

Day 5: Kampong Thom – Sambor Prei Kuk – Siem Reap

Breakfast at the hotel and transfer to the starting point. We cycle on the back road to Sambor Prei Kuk temples, the remaining ruins from the pre-angkor period, dated back in 6th century. Visit all those temples and continue cycling to nearby villages, have lunch in Kampong Thom town and proceed to Siem Reap by vehicle. On arrival at Siem Reap check in and get refreshment before heading out for dinner

Day 6: Angkor Thom – Bayon – Ta Prohm – Angkor Wat

Breakfast at hotel. Today we cycle on remote road to visit the West Gate of Angkor Thom, Bayon Temple, the Terrace of the Elephants and Victoria Gate. Continue to Ta Nei temple, hidden in the forest and visit Ta Prohm temple before lunch time. After lunch we cycle to a small village called Kravan Village to see the daily life and traditional houses. Most of the villagers sell their souvenir handcrafted products. Return to Siem Reap

Day 7: Siem Reap – Floating Villages – Tonle Sap Cruise

Breakfast at hotel. At 6:30 we start cycling to Bakhong Village to visit the orphanages, the primary school. Then take the boat to visit Kampong Phluk Village and Chong Kneas village, the most popular floating village in Siem Reap, where you can see how everything is floating on the water: houses, schools, hospitals and even the police station. Return to Siem Reap by bike and free time until transfer to airport for departure. Tour Is Over .
